It’s a busy weekend at Lali Lubani road as Mighty Mukuru Wanderers FC, Reserve and Youth sides will all be involved in mouth watering fixtures.
Wanderers Reserve
Fresh from defeating Mkanda Youth in the Aubrey Dimba Trophy last Sunday afternoon, the Reserve side heads to Mangochi where they will play Mangochi United in Mangochi.
The Bob Mpinganjira boys have had a bad start to the campaign. They are currently on position nine with seven points having played six games in the Thumbs Up Southern Region Football League. Group leaders, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve have fifteen points from seven games. On Sunday, the reserve side will travel to Mangochi Stadium to play bottom placed Mangochi United which has registered a single point from six games.
The junior Nomads won 3-1 in their last league encounter against FOMO FC, two weeks ago at Mpira Stadium.
Youth side
Joseph Kamwendo’s under 20 side will curtain raise the Blantyre Derby this Saturday by playing against Blantyre District’s FCB Under 19 league leaders; Agumbala FC at Kamuzu Stadium. The young Nomads are currently lying second in the league with a total of six points having played three games. On the other end, Agumbala FC has played two games but have the same number of points. The Under 19 league game between Wanderers Youth and Agumbala FC will start from 9:30am.
Senior Team
The rivalry is set to be renewed! Mighty Mukuru Wanderers FC will be hosting their fierce rivals FCB Nyasa Big Bullets FC at Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday. With the bragging rights at stake, the Mark Harrison men will be looking forward to a win as a battle for supremacy hots up.
The Nomads last won the elite TNM Super League in 2017 and they can’t afford to miss out on the much touted trophy this year. Wanderers FC lies third in standing with 18 points, 6 adrift of league Silver Strikers FC.
