Nomads will take on Nyasa Big Bullets on 24th September, 2022 in FDH Cup semi-final at Bingu Stadium in what looks like the only hope for Wanderers to come out this year with a silverware. Of course they will have to beat Bullets Reserve in the final to claim the cup….but Bullets Reserve although considered as Giant killers are a less dangerous opponent to stop the Lali Lubani boys from taking the cup.

Wanderers last won the TNM superleague in 2017 and looking at the gap this seasom between them and the league leaders (Big Bullets) its obvious they are not the title contenders anymore.

Bullets on the other hand have been dominating the league for the past years although they can not brag the same when it comes to cups.

This semi-final is not the first between these rivals as they also met at the same venue (Bingu National Stadium) in 2018 in Airtel Top 8 semi final and Bullets progressed to the final but lost to Blue Eagles.

They also met at Kamuzu Stadium in 2021 in another airtel top 8 semi final and Bullets progressed again courtesy of Babatunde 4 goals. They won the cup for the first time by beating Silver strikers in penalties.

This time Wanderers will not only be looking forward to revenge the lost semi-finals but also to save their face by winning at least a cup this year for their sponsors Mukuru, their President and most importantly their fans who have been starved lately of glory.

The Mighty Mukuru Wanderers will also be desperate to win FDH cup because they are considered as Cup specialists but they dont have this cup.

Manoma have an upper hand against Bullets in this coming encounter as they have a good record at Bingu stadium compared to Bullets and also because in their last encounter (a 3-3 draw in the TNM superleague) saw Wanderers almost beating Bullets towards the end of the second half.

Nyasa Big Bullets is also coming from back to back losses in the hands of Simba FC from Tanzania in the CAF competition and the team has not recovered fully from the losses.

However, Blantyre derby is totally a different game and we are looking forward to a very fierce tie.

With good officiation this will be the game of the year.
