Mighty Mukuru Wanderers and Blue Eagles fought to a 1-1 draw on Sunday afternoon at Kamuzu Stadium.

Mohammad Sulumba fired the Nomads in front as early as the eighth minute, but the Cops side recovered well and levelled through
Miciam Mhone’s tap-in shortly after the half-hour.

Coach Eddington Ng’onamo selected a very strong squad so it was no surprise when the Nomads started strong, pinning the Area 30 cops deep in their own territory.

Coach Ng’onamo brought Vitumbiko Kumwenda and Misheck Botomani on for Isaac Kaliati and Yamikani Chester respectively, as we approached the final quarter-hour.

The second half was mostly more of the same, with Mighty Mukuru Wanderers continuing the quality and producing some more dangerous chances. And those efforts should’ve paid off just after the hour-mark, when our skipper Stanley Sanudi presented dangerous crosses for our strikers.

Mighty Mukuru Wanderers pressed for a winner, drawing a few decent saves from Brighton Muthali.

The draw gave us 23 points from 12 matches and we are on third place.
