The Nomads were confirmed as Champions last week after beating Moyale Barracks and opening a five point gap over their cross-city rivals, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets. Their assignment against the 2016 Champions will therefore just be a coronation affair.

The match was shifted from the Balaka Stadium to Bingu National Stadium owing to Wanderers’ request that sought to give due consideration to its huge fan base to witness the league’s epic finale.

Meanwhile, the Nomads eye to extend their winning streak to 5 matches and finish with record breaking 71 points, two better than their title winning season in 2017 when they recorded 69 points.

The Lali Lubani boys are coming from victories over Ekhaya FC, Karonga United, Civil Service United and Moyale Barracks to make it 12 points out of possible 15 as they also lost 2-1 to Mzuzu City Hammers in their first defeat of the season.

On the other side, Kamuzu Barracks have managed to record just one win in their last last matches, which they beat Creck Sporting Club 1-0 on 7th December 2025 and lost the other four matches. They lost to Mighty Tigers, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, Silver Strikers and Blue Eagles.

A win for the Soldiers will help them secure a top 8 finish with results from other venues favouring them. They have 38 points from 11 wins, five draws and 13 defeats, scoring 29 goals and conceding 33 goals in the process.

For the Nomads, they have 68 points from 20 wins, 8 draws and one defeats in the League, scoring 49 goals and letting in just 12 goals to be the best defense this season.

After having his best ever season with Wanderers, Dalitso Khungwa will look to finish on high with his 18th clean sheet in 22 games and with the golden glove already in his hands, another cleansheet would spice up his season.

The midfielder has had a bright season with his long range goals that downed teams in the League. In first round, he formed a strongest midfield with Felix Zulu to cover the defense but the rise of Danel Kudonto Jnr enabled him to push up further and his brace in the Blantyre derby and a 54-metre stunner against Moyale Barracks are one of his brilliant works. He is another player to watch.

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗞𝗮𝗺𝘄𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗼
A promising start in the blue and white regalia during his first season dogged by criticisms from his critics but rose in the final 5 games as he netted 5 goals to drive the team to win the title as a fulfilled promise. He will be looking forward to add his tally of 9 goals in the league and also defend his player of the month award he won last month.
