Head Coach Mark Harrison has given update on Baliko Balikinho Mwakanyango, Adeleke Kolawole and suspension of his key players. He spoke to Wanderers FC Media ahead Thursday’s TNM super league clash against Silver Strikers at Kamuzu Stadium.

The Nomads return to Kamuzu Stadium after a 2-week break following the participation of the Malawi National Team in the Hollywood Bet Cosafa Cup tournament that has just ended last Sunday in South Africa.

On whether his side is up to the challenge, playing three games in the next seven days and meeting Silver Strikers who are unbeaten in the campaign

We are absolutely up to the challenge. Actually it’s six games in the next fourteen days. The game against Silver is a massive game, just like it was against Bullets FC. We have to go there to give the performance and do the job. We need three points and we must approach the game with positive mentality

On Coach Hendrikus Pieter de Jong’s sentiments that the pressure is on Wanderers this Thursday

Hahaha I know Pieter very well, he likes talking. He can talk until cows come home. I don’t want to take credit for it but pressure is inevitable. It doesn’t matter which team you play, every game has got it’s on level of pressure but what I can say is that we are ready to face them

On the suspension of Captain Stanley Sanudi and Isaac Kaliati

We have a strong squad. We will explore other options to fit in their shoes. Much as we will miss their services but we equally have capable players who we can feature in their absence.

On Baliko Balikinho Mwakanyango

He was registered by the Club and he has been undergoing assessment in the last few weeks. It’s not automatic that he has to be featured, he has to fight for a position. I think he will make a grade for the Silver match.

Injury update

Mphatso Kamanga and Adeleke Kolawole who has returned to the Club from Nigeria are still nursing injuries. Unlike Mphatso, Adeleke is doing light training on his own.

Adeleke Kolawole has returned to the Club

The Nomads have played eleven games this far and they lie 5th in the standings recording 19 points, seven adrift of league leaders FCB Nyasa Big Bullets FC who gave played two games more. Their Thursday opponents, Silver Strikers are second on the log table with 25 points from eleven games as well
