It’s yet another exciting weekend at the Lali Lubani Road as Mighty Mukuru Wanderers FC, Mighty Wanderers Reserve and Youth sides will all get busy, fighting for glory.

 

Senior Team

The senior side will be looking forward to cruise into the FDH Bank Cup last 8 as they face Zingwangwa United in the FDH Bank round of 16 at Kamuzu Stadium on Sunday. The Nomads are yet to taste the FDH Bank Cup glory having been eliminated in the semi finals last year by FCB Nyasa Big Bullets FC at Bingu National Stadium. Head Coach Mark Harrison realizes the importance of this match and has been urging his troops to get over last Saturday’s defeat at the hands of Kamuzu Barracks FC in Kasungu.

 

This is the third edition of the FDH Bank Cup after the inaugural one was won by Silver Strikers FC before FCB Nyasa Big Bullets FC were crowned champions in the last year’s edition. The Nomads are currently keeping the Airtel Top 8 Trophy at the shelves of Wanderers Club house which they won last year in December after defeating their arch rivals, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets FC in Lilongwe. Famed as hitherto Cup specialists, the Mukuru Boys are eager to add another silverware in the name of FDH Bank Cup.

 

Wanderers Reserve

Fresh from defeating Nsanama United 4-0 in the Castel Cup second preliminary round, the Young Nomads will get busy in the 13 million kwacha King Kabvina Champions Cup round of 16. Wanderers Reserve will be facing Kamba United at the Champion Stadium in Mponela on Saturday afternoon. The Bob Mpinganjira boys will be looking forward to jump into the quarterfinals and maximize their chances of grabbing the silverware.

 

Youth side

The Junior side will curtain raise the match between Mighty Mukuru Wanderers FC and Zingwangwa United FC by rubbing shoulders with Bible Stars in the FCB Katswiri Under 19 League at Kamuzu Stadium from 11am on Sunday.

The lads are currently second in the league with 12 points, 3 adrift of league leaders; Agumbala FC at Kamuzu Stadium. The young Nomads are currently lying second in in the league, with 12 points, 3 adrift of leaders Agumbala FC.
