Mighty Wanderers FC’s Head Coach Bob Gerald Mpinganjira says his side has been punished for not utilizing scoring opportunities during the one all draw against Moyale Barracks FC at Rumphi Stadium on Saturday.
Speaking during the post-match interview, the Nomads’ gaffer believes his side was a victim of wasted chances on the sunny afternoon.
On his thoughts about the match:
It was a very difficult game. We tried our best. We created alot of chances in the first half but we missed them and when you miss the chances, you get punished.
In the second half, we managed to score a goal but our opponents replied. We are here with one point in the bag and I feel it’s better than none. On what needs to be done to improve finishing: It’s true we were not sharp in front of the goal. We just have to go back to the drawing board and see how best we can improve in the upcoming matches.
On what led to the equalizer:
We didn’t play our game in the better part of last half. We were forced to follow the pattern by our opponents. They played long high balls which is not our style but we followed it which in the end got us punished.
Promise Kamwendo opened the score sheet in the 52nd minute before Jimmy Viyuyu levelled the scoreline in the 70th minute. The win has taken the Nomads’ tally to 33 points on top of the table. The Nomads have Chitipa United (H) and Civil Service United (A) before the first round of the league comes to a close.
