Mighty Mukuru Wanderers FC’s Interim Head Coach, Meke Mwase says his side seeks to return to winning ways as the Nomads welcome Chitipa United on Thursday at Kamuzu Stadium.
Speaking to Wanderers Media ahead of the TNM Super League assignment against the fourteenth placed northern region side, Mwase says his boys need to move from the 2-1 shocking home defeat at the hands of Moyale Barracks and focus on collecting maximum points on Thursday.
“There is positive feedback in training, the players are eager to produce a positive result against Chitipa United. We have an ambition to accomplish this season and we need to give our best on Thursday”, concluded Mwase.
The Head Coach also rued missed opportunities during the game against Moyale Barracks and he says his panel has been working hard in training on attacking as well as defending. Said Mwase, “we missed alot of scoring opportunity in our previous game and we paid dearly for that. Even after equalizing, we couldn’t defend an impending draw; we hope to improve on these areas moving forward.”
The Lali Lubani Boys remain second in the standings with 21 points, 9 adrift of the league leaders, Silver Strikers FC. Since 2019, Wanderers FC and Chitipa United have met on four occasions with the Nomads winning twice while the latter side has been victorious on one occasion and drawing another.
