Mighty Mukuru Wanderers FC President, Dr Thomson Mpinganjira has rewarded his players for beating Silver Strikers FC during the TNM Super League clash at Kamuzu Stadium on Thursday.
Mpinganjira, who also doubles as the Board Chairperson for Wanderers FC has splashed K100,000 to every player that featured on the field of play and K50,000 to every player that was on the bench. Speaking to the Club Media, the business mogul couldn’t hide his excitement over the boys’ performance; “I am extremely delighted with the win, we must commend the players for putting up a gallant fight. I hope this trend continues”.
Reacting to the development, Club Captain Stanley Sanudi was all praises over the President’s gesture. “The President has overtime shown to be our number one supporter. He has given us motivation in different ways times without number. We are grateful for this gesture and on behalf of my fellow players, we are making a commitment to continue working hard to his delight and to the delight of all our supporters”.
The Nomads ended Silver Strikers FC’s unbeaten run with a 46th minute header by Francis Mkonda. They have now moved to 4th position with 22 points to their tally, four adrift of league leaders FCB Nyasa Big Bullets FC who have played one game more. The Lali Lubani Boys face Blue Eagles FC at Kamuzu Stadium on Sunday.
